Finding the Right McCulloch Chainsaw Parts and Accessories for Your Saw

Whether you are looking for true vintage McCulloch chainsaw parts or need new Mini Mac 35 parts, you can find them on eBay. New chainsaws are expensive, so many chainsaw owners try to fix what they already have. Finding a good deal on parts can increase the life of your saw without making a huge dent in your wallet.

Types of parts

There are several types of McCulloch chainsaw repair parts listed on eBay. From a new chain to an entire set of parts, you'll be sure to find what you need. Here are the parts most commonly listed:

  • Chains
  • Carburetors
  • Guide Bars
  • Handles
  • Air Filters
  • Cylinders
  • Starters
  • Sprockets
Various conditions of chainsaws available

You can find both old McCulloch chainsaw parts and new ones on eBay. Parts will be listed under various conditions. For instance, a new part means it comes in the original box and has never been opened. If the listing says open box, the part will come shipped in the original box, but it has been opened. The part is still considered new, as it has not been used. Manufacturers will often re-sell parts that were returned to them and they fixed. This will be listed as manufacturer refurbished. If the previous owner fixed the part, it may also be listed as refurbished, but this is different than a manufacturer refurbished part. The last category of parts you will see is not working or for parts only. You can use these as McCulloch chainsaw repair parts to fix your current saw.

When should you replace the chain on your saw?

There is not really a recommended time frame for replacing your chain. There are many variables that go into deciding when a chain should be replaced. If you cut wood every day, you will obviously have to replace a chain sooner than someone who cuts once a month. In general, you should replace your chain if one or more of the following are true:

  • The drive links have become burred and no longer fit into the bar.
  • One or more of the cutter teeth or drive links have become bent or are broken.
  • The chain has been sharpened to over two thirds its original length.
