Jeep Car and Truck Decals and Stickers

To give your Jeep Wrangler an eye-catching look, add stickers or decals to your vehicle. With stickers, you can infuse your ride with personality or show off your pride in your vehicle. Vinyl Jeep decals can be applied for a quick car makeover.

To what parts of a Jeep can you add decals?

Any part of your Jeep can be decorated with a design, but unless your image or lettering is very small, you will need a large, smooth surface that is open for embellishment. Therefore, some of the more common locations to place images are:

  • Windows
  • Hoods
  • Fenders
  • Bumpers
What themes are available for Jeep decals?

One of the typical ways to decorate your Jeep involves emblazoning it with the name of your vehicle model, trim, or features. For example, you could add "Rubicon," "Wrangler Sport," or "4x4" to the side of your truck.

Other truck decals boast of an owners love for his or her Jeep. These designs show off the great characteristics of Jeep Wranglers and lend the impression of membership in a special group to which only Jeep owners belong.

Finally, your hood decals can relate to any theme that appeals to you. Instead of focusing on a car-specific design, your appliques may show off your family, hobbies, career, or other special interests. A flag or star decal can be used to reflect your patriotism.

How do you apply vinyl stickers to a Jeep?

With most vinyl stickers, you peel them off of their backing and transfer them to your vehicle. If your supplier provides directions, follow their application instructions. Otherwise, the following steps will provide an overview of the process:

  1. Always apply vinyl designs in a clean and dry environment.
  2. Clean the spot on your Wrangler where you will be applying the decal. Use soap and water to prepare the area. Another option is to clean it with rubbing alcohol. Do not use any other cleaners.
  3. Rub a straight plastic edge over the protective film that covers your design. A credit card works well for this job.
  4. Slowly peel the white paper backing away from the decal. If any vinyl sticks to the backing, repeat the previous step before continuing.
  5. Press the sticker and the protective film onto your Wrangler JK.
  6. Use your straight-edged item to firmly rub all over the surface of the vinyl design and the film. Ensure that all air bubbles are removed.
  7. Starting at a corner, pull the film away slowly. The sticker should be affixed to your Jeep.
Are vinyl stickers permanent?

Decals applied to your Jeep Wrangler can generally be removed. Newer stickers are usually easier to peel off than older ones, but applying heat to the image can make it easier to remove any window or hood decals.

  • Use a small plastic tool to work the emblem away from the car. It may come off in large pieces or in small bits.
  • Apply an adhesive remover to clean up any residue that is left behind on your vehicle.
