Ford F-150 Hubcaps

You may like to place additional accessories, such as hubcaps, on your vehicles, particularly on your Ford F-150 truck. Ford hubcaps serve not only to add aesthetic appeal to your F-150 but also serve to protect the wheel and other components from grime. With a wide selection of styles and designs, offered by both OEM and aftermarket manufactures, you are sure to find hubcaps for your F-150 that will suit your needs.

What are hubcaps and what do they do?

Hubcaps are circular metal or plastic disks that cover the center portions of your Ford wheels and prevent grime, moisture, and dust from entering. They are often decorative and primarily act as a wheel cover. Sometimes they are referred to as grease caps or wheel covers.

What materials are hubcaps made of?

Hubcaps are typically made of ABS plastic, which is lightweight and typically resists rust well. In the past, hubcaps were commonly made of chrome steel. While not as common, you can still find chrome steel hubcaps.

What are some brand options for aftermarket hubcaps?

If you want to purchase hubcaps made by the manufacturer, Ford has numerous options for hubcaps for the Ford F-150. Some other common brands that manufacture F-150 hubcaps include:

  • CCI Aftermarket Parts
  • Modifystreet
  • King
  • OE+
  • OxGord
  • Pilot automotive
How do you remove and replace your hubcaps?

Hubcaps made of metal are typically screwed or bolted into place. Plastic hub caps, however, typically attach to the wheel via clips. Following the steps outlined below will allow you to easily remove and install your plastic hubcaps.

  1. Remove the original Ford hubcap using a screwdriver to pry carefully around the edges.
  2. Most hubcaps include a tension ring, which is meant to be placed around the valve stem. Set the tension ring into the slots. This process should only take a few minutes.
  3. Start by testing the cap by placing the ring in the upper slot position. This position should be the natural fitting for the cap, and the rest of the slots should fit right in place.
  4. Pay attention to the location of the lug nuts, and align the valve stems so that they are parallel with the notches.
  5. Apply even pressure to the wheel covers, and the rim should easily clip in through the retention clips.
  6. Do not force the hubcap on; if it does not fit properly, realign, and try again. Always check that your cap is secure before driving your vehicle. The hubcap should not be able to come off with just the pull of your hands.
