Dodge Challenger Grilles

Customize your Dodge Challenger with a new grille. Many owners want a personalized look for their Dodge Challengers, and swapping out the grille can help achieve this. Selecting a new grille design can give your Dodge car a fresh new look.

Why should you replace the grille of your Challenger?

There are two main reasons to install a new grille on your Dodge Challenger.

  • To replace a broken or damaged part. If your Challenger has seen better days or has been in an accident, you may need to switch out this part to restore your vehicle to its former appearance.
  • To give your Dodge Challenger a customized appearance. Dodge owners often like to customize the look of their Challengers. Installing new black or chrome accessories can give your Dodge Challenger a one-of-a-kind appearance.

How do you replace a Dodge Challenger upper grille?

To switch out the grille on your Dodge Challenger, you must first remove the old one. If your new accessory includes the entire assembly, you will completely replace your old unit with the new one. However, if your new accessory is just a cover, you will retain the old assembly and mount the cover to it.

  1. Turn off the car. Ensure that it is off for at least 30 minutes before beginning work. This allows the engine to cool sufficiently.
  2. Open the hood of your Dodge Challenger.
  3. Pull up on the front fascia cover to remove it. You will probably have to pull up on the cover on both the drivers side and the passenger side.
  4. Undo any screws that are holding the grille in place. There may be screws on the top, bottom, and sides of the grille.
  5. Use a screwdriver to pry up the clips that hold the grille in place.
  6. Lift the grille away from your Dodge vehicle.
  7. If you will be using the existing assembly, switch out the cover.
  8. Place the grille assembly back on your Dodge Challenger. Repeat the removal steps in reverse order to secure the new accessory in place.

What grille styles are available for Dodge cars and trucks?

A Dodge Challenger has an upper grille above the bumper and a lower grille below the bumper. A car or truck grille can be made of aluminum or stainless steel. Color options for a Challenger grille include black or a chrome finish. Multiple design styles are available.

  • Bar billet - This style features horizontal lines that run parallel to one another across the length of the accessory.
  • Vertical billet - Vertical billet grilles for cars and trucks have bars that run up and down instead of side to side.
  • Punch - This design gives the appearance that holes have been punched out of a sheet of metal. The holes could be circles, octagons, or other shapes. A punch style may also be referred to as a honeycomb pattern.
  • Mesh - Grilles with a mesh design have a crisscrossing pattern of metal bars.
