There are many options when it comes to garage doors. The right door can improve curb appeal and change the look of a current garage. Clopay offers many types of garage doors in a range of styles.

Some options to keep in mind are:

• Dimensions: Most garage doors come in default dimensions, matching standard openings. Before ordering a new door, make sure you know the height and width of your garage door.
• Insulated / R-value: R-value refers to the type of insulation provided by a garage door. Higher numbers mean more insulation.
• Appearance: Choose a garage door with a style and color that will go well with your house. Garage door choices include traditional, contemporary, or carriage house.

Not all parts work for all garage doors. Here are some options to keep in mind when shopping for parts:

• Door width: Garage door seals and locks depend on the width of the door at its base.
• Door height: New or replacement chains and openers will rely on the height of your door when closed. If taking measurements, make sure to measure only the garage door, not any fixed overhead parts.
• Decorative handles: In order to install handles on your Clopay door, you will need holes for these handles. Unless predrilled in advance, you will need to drill new holes for these.
• Windows: Garage door windows allow natural light into your garage. If you know you'll want windows, look for doors with suitable panels included. If not preinstalled, panels will need to be cut or modified later.

Typically, Clopay garage doors are made out of a steel and composite mix, an aluminum and glass mix, or natural wood. The type of material that the garage door is made from depends on the design.
