Antenas para Toyota Tundra

Toyota Tundra Antennas

Antennas are an essential component of your Toyota Tundra trucks radio system. However, over time, it is common for this part to need replacing on your cars or trucks exterior. Whether you need an upgrade or a replacement part, brands like Toyota, Possbay, and more have what you need to complete your Toyota Tundra.

How does a car antenna work?

Car antennas are manufactured to pick up a radio waves magnetic energy and convert it to the cars radio receiver; this will then translate into the audio that you hear on a radio. Different model antennas pick up different radio waves, depending on the length and other features of an antennas design. A vehicle antenna can pick up both AM and FM frequencies. These antennas also work for HD radio transmissions since they are broadcast through regular AM and FM frequencies.

How do you determine where the antenna is?

The Toyota Tundra antenna will fall into one of two categories: a fender-mount antenna or a pillar-mount antenna. A fender-mount antenna will be located on the front side fender; this may or may not be a physical antenna. Fender-mounted antennas may just be a covered opening; refer to your vehicles owner manual to assess if this is true for your vehicle. A pillar-mount antenna will be located between the front door and windshield. Pillar mounts can be easily removed by unscrewing the pieces by the antennas base.

How do you replace a trucks radio antenna?
  • First, locate the antenna, and use a pair of pliers to loosen the nut on the bottom of the vehicle antenna.
  • Once you have access to the underside of the antenna, pull out the coaxial cable. This cable will run between the antenna and the insides of the car. It may be connected via an extension cable, so unplug the entire connection.
  • Take out the old cable, but be sure to note the route it follows.
  • Read the installation instructions prior to replacing the antenna. Be sure that the area is clean and safe to install the new antenna.
  • Run the new antenna cable through the same route that the old one was placed in. Next, insert the new mast, and attach the cables. Make sure that everything is properly screwed into place and has a snug fit. Finish by tightening the retainer bolt that you initially loosened. Be sure to test out your Tundra trucks radio to ensure everything is functioning properly.
