Bolsas de Aire Para Nissan Altima

Nissan Altima Air Bags

Besides the seatbelt, one of the more important achievements in vehicle safety is the airbag. As a Nissan Altima owner, you want to ensure that you and your passengers stay safe no matter where you roam. As part of this commitment, keeping your airbags in good working order is a critical task.

What are the features of a Nissan Altima airbag?
  • Quick inflation: Within .04 seconds of a collision, your Nissan Altimas airbag will be fully inflated, protecting you from impacting the steering wheel or dashboard.
  • Dual inflation system: This system uses sensors to detect the severity of a collision to determine with what force to inflate the airbag. The airbag will be inflated with less force in less major collisions, and with greater force in more major collisions.
  • Large size: The oversized drivers and passengers airbags ensure there will be no gap in coverage between the front and side airbags in a collision.
  • Automatic shutoff: If you dont have a passenger in your Nissan Altimas front seat, the passenger side airbag will be automatically disabled.
How do you select a Nissan Altima replacement airbag?

If you find yourself needing to replace your Nissan Altimas airbag, choosing the correct replacement is absolutely critical. You can select either new original equipment manufacturer (OEM) or secondhand OEM modules. If you select a secondhand module, be diligent in asking about the history of the donor vehicle the unit was removed from to ensure that the airbag will deploy properly in the event you have a collision in your Nissan Altima.

How do you install an airbag on a Nissan Altima?

If you attempt to replace your Nissan Altimas airbag, it should only be because you have been involved in an accident. There is no customization value in replacing an airbag for any other reason.

  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait about 30 minutes.
  • Unscrew the three pins holding the airbag module in place. Do each pin separately, ensuring the airbag module is loose before moving on to the next pin.
  • Disconnect the electrical connections for the airbag and any steering wheel controls from the back of the airbag module, and remove the used airbag module.
  • Connect the electrical connections and re-engage the three pins.
  • Ensure that the front of the module is flush with the wheel, then turn the vehicle on and ensure that none of the airbag warning lights are illuminated.
